Patteran

The most prominent and widespread Gyptian (Rroma) family in London, the Patteran are neither respected or well liked, but they have their place. There are a few other Gyptian families, but none are anything near as visible o powerful as the Patteran. Almost common in the most hidden and hard-to-reach part of Brick Lane and the warren of tunnels under it, they have a major camp in Soho as well when the Carnivale comes to town. They also claim quite a few to the young men (and sometimes girls) called 'calibans' - those guides and scouts that know the underground of the city well - among their number. Most will even take the gaje anywhere they want to go...for a price.
