Character Sheet

Name: Spider

Description: Tall and gaunt to the point of painful thin-ness, there is something about Spider that is at once comforting and deeply frightening. Perhaps it's the way his long fingers steeple together when he looks at you, or the hawk-like look in those dark, deep-set eyes. But his voice is so calming and persuasive, how could you possibly suspect him of malice?

Reputation: Spider is often overlooked by many of London's criminal elite as being just another whoremonger, another small-time crook. If said elite were to look a little harder, they might discover how vast his range of 'interests' are. Some would whisper that he was driven to prove himself above them, make up for his birth and religion. And perhaps it is, and then again perhaps it isn't. Spider's known for unpredictability, and being generally inscrutable. His quiet stare has something of a reputation in itself, signifying a warning that something could possibly, maybe happen...some day. He recruits dumb, tough, brutal lads and feeds them very, very well, and their fierce loyalty comes in all manner of handy. He's very possessive of 'his girls' and his plans, both of which he keeps on a tight leash. Indeed, he is known to even take a paternal tone in his dealings with them, promising a predictable life in the face of the world's uncaring cruelty.

Affiliation: 'Spider's Web', as he likes to call it, sprawls through many layers of the City's criminal economy, and even stretches its tendrils into more honest parts on occasion.

Allies and Enemies: More people are on Spider's payroll than could possibly imagine. He's got most all the whores in Shoreditch in his pocket, and those he hasn't he has got thugs to take care of if they make trouble. Because he doesn't play the game overtly, he hasn't many obvious enemies, although there's no doubt some as would like nothing better than to make life trouble. But these are soon dealt with quietly and unexpectedly.
