Name: Renate MacGregor

Description: Renate is a sturdy, attractive girl in her late teens. New in London, she came to find a new audience for her fiddle. With a soft inviting body, curling dark blonde hair and immaculately formed proportions, she would make a successful courtesan and many often take her for one. But she is actually a courier during days, delivering messages and packages during the day, and at night she plays her fiddle on whatever corner she can find, for the pennies passerby too seldom bother to throw in.

She is a taciturn girl; a little shy but mostly she just wants to mind herself and keep out of everyone else’s way as much as she can. However there is something about her that draws people. Maybe it is the look of vulnerability and sadness (just begging to be taken advantage of really) or the sensibly dignified way she carries herself but she doesn’t get left alone as much as she seems to prefer.

This is different however when she is playing her fiddle. She is all full of passion when playing like a whole different person, and looks honestly as if the music is burning her up from inside. She is a prodigy at her violin and this is obvious to everyone who hears her play.

Relationships

Renate has met Wilkie but their run in was less than comforting. She has also met Ghost and is convinced that she can either help or learn something from the small girl. It doesn't help that she mistakenly believes that Ghost has 'the Sight'.

Since coming to London Renate has entered the employ of Nathaniel Lindsey as the stage assistant for his Illusion acts. She believes herself completely unsuited for the work but is enjoying the slightly more dependable pay it offers. She's also met Jason Locke through working for Lindsey as Jason is the magician's ingeníeur.
