Captain WilliamsCaptain Charles Williams
Name/Title: Charles Williams Occupation: Captain, London Metropolitan Police Sex/Age/Nationality: Male, 47, English Appearance: Tall, barrel chested, with thick arms, a bushy mustache and sideburns just starting to go gray, and thinning red hair. He is usually attired in tweed suits of clashing patterns, with a pocketwatch on his waistcoat and his police badge pinned to his chest. Personality/Archetype: (what general Sort of person they are) He is generally avuncular, treating his subordinates like a jolly father would treat his favorite children. He is very serious about police work, however, and does not generally brook slackers or layabouts on his force. +/-: Cheerful, dedicated to the Force, but also easily gives in when his own superiors override his officers and take control of his cases for political reasons. Also is a bit blind when it comes to his daughter. Likes/Dislikes: He is fond of Aubrey, perhaps a little more than his other subordinates. He is also fond of good food and ale. He takes a very dim view of the poor and the lazy (which are the same thing to him). He is patriotic about the royals, but often has a very dismissive attitude towards lesser nobles, who he sees as rarely knowing what the real London is like. Short History: Captain Williams' father was one of the first members of Sir Robert Peel's Metropolitan Police when it was formed, and young Charles decided at an early age that he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps. The influence of the elder Williams helped Charles gain his position quickly, but fortunately he has proved quite an able police administrator. He prides himself on the successes of his officers, despite being in charge of one of the most crime-ridden areas of London. Motivations/Goals: To retire with a good pension, to keep his men safe and sound, and see his daughter Belinda married off to a good man, preferably a cop and even more preferably Aubrey Davison.
